Hi I’m Jyoti and welcome to Butterwicks Vegan Patisserie. The handsome man next to me with the cute smile (and big nose) is my hubby, Gunny.

When we meet a lot of our vegan customers the first thing that happens is the dilation of pupils, followed by an “oooh macarons” exclamation. For many of us turning vegan used to be challenging especially if you have enjoyed decadent treats like the indulgent chocolate cake, the luscious lemon curd tart, and the gorgeous, fragile and utterly divine macaron.

Well that was our mission, We didn’t want to provide raw vegan desserts, nor traditional tray bakes or cupcakes; far too simple :-). My passion pushed me to the limits of culinary excellence as I spent nearly 9 months including specialist vegan pastry training in Spain, to perfect what many of our fans have described as “gorgeous” and “better than the real thing” - Butterwicks unique range of vegan macarons for you to savour.

So why Butterwicks vegan macarons? First and foremost we are exclusively vegan and so there is no risk of any cross-contamination with egg-based ingredients. Secondly we have an extensive range of macarons and we pride ourselves on our colour and flavour combinations to give you a unique experience that will set your eyes alight and your taste buds wanting more. Finally its a perfect gift for a loved one, for a special occasion or for a wedding or celebration where you want something unique and personalised.

The name Butterwicks came from Butterwick Drive, where I grew up. Fond memories of my father’s sweet tooth and my joy at baking treats to satisfy his taste stuck with me. I wanted to honour my love for him and the name sprung from that. “Here’s looking at you dad!”
