The 2020 Diwali Vegan Macaron experience

Butterwicks Diwali vegan macarons

Happy 2020 Diwali!

Hey Butterwickers, it’s Joyti again!

Well what a fantastic 2020 Diwali.

We ended up going for a classic retro Indian themed selection of Diwali vegan macaron flavours and colours.

Sometimes you just don’t know where inspiration is going to strike from, and for the Diwali range.

This was exactly the case. Mum saw a recipe for ‘tutti frutti’ using melon skins, yes you read it right, melon skins. So she decided to have a go. If you are curious, have a look here - https://www.betterbutter.in/recipe/164363/watermelon-tutti-frutti/ . A little bit of food colouring, some fruity flavours, a bit of drying time and voila - tutti frutti… Mum beamed a smile of triumph, and then asked “what shall I do with it?” Inspiration hit and within a few hours we had created the “tutti frutti” vegan macaron.

Then the Diwali juices really started flowing and we came across Gouri Kubair and Holy Lama - https://holylama.co.uk/. What a fantastic range of flavours oh my! You have to check Holy Lama out. Well done Gouri. Flavour samples ordered, Mumbai cutting chai, rasmalai and the rose & pistachio versions followed, tasting exquisite and with the addition of our chocolate filled coconut macaron we had a gorgeous Diwali vegan macaron selection for all to enjoy.

Thank you to those who managed to get orders in and your overwhelmingly positive response. We had an absolute blast with these. Go get inspired and go create!! Anything is possible :-)

Lots of love
